The Layered Life (Poem)

I am living in chocolate and strawberry,
Hot and lukewarm,
A gentle sunshower and an unseasonable drought,
What happens when a stiff list of rules
Meets a secretive and charming people
With angel voices and serpent tongues,
Meets a world of every flavor of love you can imagine
(And some you cannot)
And stunning vision and dismal ego and cruelty.
I am the result of everything in order
And falling apart,

The end of an era and the beginning of whatever this happens to be

And above all,
The continuation of what has always been,
The remembered tomorrow from when the universe was still new.
