The Dreamcatcher (Poem)
Oh, how I have wrestled with the thought
Of what I would say to you
If you asked me how the shadows in my mind
Dress up for dinner and gather me for celebration.
This catcher of dreams, I touch before bed
Hoping that this time, it will grant grace
As again I plunge into the depths of sleep
And prepare for more discoveries in the uncharted water.
To keep the most vengeful of monsters
From my vulnerable and still being
And preserve my fragile psyche for the coming day
This I ask of you, my willing and feathered guard.
